Somatic Yoga Therapy

Are you looking for embodied, relational therapy?

I currently have a couple of spots open for somatic yoga therapy for women and people with wombs. Find out more here.

About Elizabeth

I was a creative and dreamy child who lived in stories and would spend hours lost in nature. From my teens, I experienced chronic anxiety and depression which led me down a long and winding path to rediscovering my sense of safety in my surroundings and body, and delight in my life.

My therapeutic approach to massage has developed from my appreciation of what it is to be highly sensitive and to live with the imprints of trauma including violations around touch and contact. I care about offering massage and bodywork that meets you where you are, respectfully and compassionately, so that you can experience how deeply co-regulating, nourishing and empowering touch can be.

Relational, sensitive touch that matches your body’s pace can help you shift your relationship with yourself. Therapeutic massage supports the unravelling of tension, cools inflammation, frees the breath and helps you settle into deep parasympathetic rest.

You are welcome as your whole self. And so I bring sensitivity towards your emotional state, your nervous system needs, and an appreciation for the way that life, relationships and world circumstances impact your body, mind, heart and soul.

We collaborate on the process together so that the touch is a touch your body wants and can receive (sometimes what our body wants is quite different to what our mind expects!). I also use supports like weights, blankets and scents to increase your sense of safety and comfort.

Depending on your needs and what you are looking to get from the experience, we can work in a more or less process-orientated way. This might be important if you are looking for support with chronic pain, trauma or attachment issues, or while going through a process such as IVF or cancer treatment. We can also work in a more traditional holistic way and will discuss this together when we discuss your needs and expectations for the sessions.

If you need more regular therapeutic support, I invite you to look into Somatic Yoga Therapy. We meet weekly for relational embodied therapy where we use movement, breath, touch and somatic dialogue to bring you into deeper, kinder relationship with yourself and your life.

Massage sessions are 60, 75 or 90 minutes. I look forward to hearing from you.

    Pregnancy & Postnatal

Time for you to connect with yourself and your baby. Pregnancy massage can relieve common symptoms and help you prepare for birth. For many women, the clinic is a haven of restoration and reassurance.

Massage postnatally is equally important, nurturing you as a ‘new’ mother and restoring balance to your body that has gone through the greatest of transitions. Across cultures, new mothers have been bathed in touch and support.

Mothers at all stages deserve nourishing touch and care.

What people are saying:

“Elizabeth is magic! I struggle with endometriosis and fibroids, which means I am in extreme pain or discomfort for at least half of every month. It impacts my mood and energy levels. Since having regular massages with Elizabeth, who listens to how my symptoms have impacted me, and focuses on problem areas- my pain has been significantly better!

She has also helped me understand my body better, and the womb massage not only relieves my pain, but also releases endorphins which leave me feeling happy and energized. This is inexplicably impactful, since no medication or treatment has helped me this way!”
