“I came to Elizabeth for support around my womb, both physically and emotionally. Elizabeth is a highly skilled and deeply caring practitioner who I feel I can trust.
“What I appreciate most about the way she works is that she can hold space to allow me to guide what I feel I need, whilst bringing her own sense and intuition to meet it.”

Somatic Womb Bodywork Therapy
“My somatic bodywork session with Elizabeth was a truly magical experience.
“It felt like she was so present with me and I felt so deeply held.
“It's hard to put into words but during the session I had an extraordinary moment where I felt like I was held in a blissful space but grounded by Elizabeth's voice, touch and presence at the same time. In this space my wiser, more compassionate self and I met for the first time.”

I offer the Womb Gaia approach which draws upon ancestral feminine care practices integrating womb bodywork and restorative yoga. This is a somatic and process-oriented therapy that centres the womb and pelvis.
People find the bodywork deeply nourishing and healing. The focus is on accompanying and enhancing your body process rather than treating symptoms. However, people find that this gentle approach offers much relief.
You may experience more ease, fascial release and realignment, a reduction in chronic tension, improvements to digestion, circulation and menstrual cycles, as well as glimpses into your wellbeing, vitality, power and sensuality.
I work externally only, and this is often through drapes. Most sessions take place on the floor and may include contact with different therapeutic parts of the whole body. I use herbal balms, heat, rebozo, wrapping, movement, touch and sound.
This work is sensitive, well-paced and trauma-informed with the time for the integration that you deserve. Therefore, I don’t offer one-off sessions.
Working with the womb space is intimate and so we begin with a full consultation session. I will take down detailed information, there is time for questions and to see if we are a good fit for working together. I will give you my recommendation for a therapeutic journey and together we will decide a rhythm and cadence of working together.
This is for women and people with wombs to whom this feels relevant. My practice is queer and trans-inclusive.

Healing and reconnection after miscarriage, ivf loss, abortion or after a traumatic birth experience
If you have experienced a womb loss or trauma, you may sense the need for embodied care. That you need not just to have your story heard, but that your body and tissues need to feel held, met, soothed and responded to.
Our culture lacks embodied feminine care, and there is little space in our health system for these essential holistic arts. I believe our bodies remember and know what they are missing.
No matter what stage of pregnancy you lost your baby, you will be postpartum and in need of support. Touch, warmth, holding, and witnessing are often the missing pieces for you to find relief and resolution.
The holding for this kind of work is in a therapeutic container. We meet weekly for the short to midterm. This gives the work containment and focus, and your body receives the message that support is available. It is worth taking time to tend to the different layers of your experience and to trust the unfolding of your integration process.

Abortion is a choice but it is rarely a simple decision. There can be complex emotional and physiological responses which sometimes seem paradoxical.
Some women experience relief but feel like their connection to their wombs needs tending after the event (no matter how long ago it happened). Some women find that their heart needs support to find acceptance and self-compassion.
Working somatically gives different parts of you the chance to rise to the surface, be heard and tended to.
Sadly, many women have terminations without adequate support. Working with a therapist offers you the care and tending that you may have missed at the time, and provides a space to honour what you have been through and your feelings about it.

Attachment trauma can affect how you feel about yourself and experience your body. Attachment wounds are not healed through talking or gaining more knowledge, though this can be important, but through experiencing oneself differently in relationship, and building a new kind of relationship with oneself. This is where somatic work and particularly touch is important.
Implicit memory is held in the body and in the skin. Touch has been proven effective at helping to repair unfulfilled preverbal needs. Gentle, supportive, and nurturing touch brings back hope to a body that did not experience enough care, attention or validation.
Many people have imprints from their experiences in utero and at birth. Whether you know your birth story, birth mother, or not, working somatically can bring healing to these foundational patterns held in the nervous system, leading to greater ease, acceptance and vitality.
Through this healing process, aspects of yourself that have been suppressed or that have had to work really hard for your survival get to experience something different. Over time, you will start to experience less shame and greater safety in being yourself.

For some women there can be an awareness that stagnant, painful aspects linger or block their sexual wellbeing or fulfilment.
Womb Gaia therapy can help make sense of and relieve the psycho - somatic symptoms related to menstrual or hormone imbalances, perimenopause and menopause struggles, pelvic dysfunction, bladder, rectal or vaginal prolapse, painful intercourse, vaginismus, PMT/ PMS/depression, digestive issues, IBS, recovery from STDs, sexual assault & sexual abuse.

You are met where you are with care and sensitivity.
My approach is therapeutic, intuitive and collaborative.
This is somatic therapeutic work that may touch you on all levels: Physical, energetic and emotional. While gentle, it can be transformative.
We will likely focus on the pelvis and womb space, but our work will include other therapeutic areas of the heart, head, feet and hands. This is important so you feel linked-up and nurtured. Including the whole body is essential in the stages of preparation, releasing and integration.
Sometimes our minds and ideas go ahead of our bodies. This approach is deeply respectful of your body process. We will collaborate on what feels appropriate and helpful. Working this way can be reparative when we have experienced boundary violations.
The somatic process can offer a chance to resolve held and interrupted physiological processes that might have gotten ‘stuck’ due to trauma, pain or neglect. This can be experienced in the body as tension, bracing, inflammation, numbness.
We will go at your pace, respecting your body’s boundaries, unwinding and expression. There is space for somatic enquiry. I may share my observations and ask you about what you are noticing. You are welcome and encouraged to share what is coming up for you.
Our work may include movement, sounding, womb wrapping, heat, herbal balms, touch through drapes, and oil on skin massage.
We can discuss aftercare including cycle-tending, self-massage, movement and rest practices.

Your body is for life. And we’re in this for the long-term!
This is not about fixing, curing or problem-solving. This is work of devotion and for that we need sustained attention, presence and commitment.
We are women of cycles: Our bodies long for us to accompany these cycles.
This takes time.
There is no rush.
I do not offer one-off sessions. I understand that there can be urgency and impatience, particularly if you have been suffering, or want to move forward.
I find it is important to slow things down. To start to listen to the body’s rhythm, and to allow generous time for integration.
Unfortunately, the womb space is often ignored and mistreated in our culture. This means that most women hold imprints here. Sometimes, the pelvis and womb space do not welcome touch, and in this therapeutic approach, we can work with this tenderly.
