What to expect from an appointment:
I will ask you to arrive 10 minutes early for your first appointment. This is extra time for talking about your health, needs and preferences. A full consultation gives us the ground to get to know each other, answer any questions you might have, and make a plan for the session. The plan can include body areas to work on, as well as areas to avoid, the style or depth of massage you’re looking for, how far to undress, and what kind of communication might support you through the massage.
Once we’ve decided on a treatment plan, I will leave the room to let you get undressed and hop onto the couch. How far you undress is up to you and we will have discussed this. I can work through clothes and sheets. During the massage, you will be covered by drapes (and blankets) and I will uncover only the areas I’m working on.
You have the option of having background music on, or resting in silence. If you would like to bring your own music to hook up to the speakers, please feel free.
I will check in during the massage about how it’s feeling for you and what could be different. If you need to change the plan at any time, I invite you to say. Your voice and changing needs are welcome.
At the end of the massage, I’ll leave the room again to let you get dressed. We’ll then have a quick chat which might include aftercare.
Practicalities and Accessibility:
My massage space is within the Spaceworks Old Co-Op building on Chelsea Road, Easton. The room is up a flight of stairs and there is no lift. There are toilets for our use.
Arriving: Please find the door with the large glass 38 above it and buzz no.12 East Bristol Wellness. I will let you through to the waiting area. Please wait there, and I will come down to meet you.
Please arrive not more than 5 minutes before your appointment as I may be with another client.
Getting there: The massage space is a few minutes from the Bristol to Bath Cycle Path.
There is free on-street parking outside the building. Chelsea Road can be busy so I recommend arriving in good time.
Stapleton Road station and Lawrence Hill station are a 15 minute walk away, providing local train connections.
