Pregnancy & Postnatal Massage

Time for you to connect with yourself and your baby. Feel nurtured and supported as you live through the transitions of pregnancy. Massage relieves common symptoms like back ache, sciatica, restless leg syndrome and swelling.

You can receive massage throughout your pregnancy from the moment you find out, until just before labour.

In the first trimester, massage can offer you a space to come into the present moment offering relief and relaxation at a time of sudden physical changes and high anxiety. Massage can be a haven of comfort, calm and reassurance.

As pregnancy progresses, many women experience aches and pains related to the postural changes. Massage helps you connect with your body as it changes shape.

In the third trimester and as labour nears, massage can be a great support in fostering your trust in your body and your baby.

Many women start to feel heavy at this stage, and tight glutes and sciatica are common as well as pressure and tightness around the ribs. Massage brings much needed ease and relaxation. We can also draw on the wonderful resource of the breath and talk about techniques to take home.

Across cultures, massage is at the heart of postnatal care. Touch provides you with oxytocin at a time of vulnerability, nurturing you as a ‘new’ mother and gently restoring balance to your body that has gone through the greatest of transitions.

I am pleased to offer postnatal home visits for existing clients.
